Dr. Candelora is originally from the Philadelphia area. He obtained his concurrent Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in Biology from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA.

Dr. Candelora obtained his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where he also completed his orthopaedic residency. He received specialty training in rehabilitation and spine surgery in Los Angeles, CA, at the UCLA affiliated Rancho Los Amigos Hospital. His sports medicine training was done at the Hughston Sports Medicine Clinic in Columbus, GA, and his pediatric orthopaedic training was completed at the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children in Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Candelora has practiced orthopaedic surgery in this area since 1989. He has served as Chief of Surgery at both North Bay Hospital and New Port Richey Community Hospital (now Medical Center of Trinity). He has also served on several Hospital committees including Credentials, Surgical Quality Review & Bylaws.   He is a diplomat in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the Florida Orthopedic Association, Pasco Medical Society, Hughston Society, Tulane’s Caldwell Society and the Florida Medical Society.

Dr. Candelora founded this orthopaedic practice in 1991. He has developed special interests in total joint arthroplasty including the new minimally invasive total hip and knee replacements, reconstructive surgery, and the treatment of various shoulder and knee disorders. With the ongoing and rapid advancement of orthopaedic technology, our goal is to stay in the forefront of proven and accepted surgical innovations.
